Testing and Assessment

Student Progress Reporting

Class teaches issue student progress reports to all students twice per year. These reports comply with a federally standardised format which all Australian schools utilise for reporting student progress.

Preparatory to year 6 parents are invited to meet with the class teacher at a formal meeting twice a year to discuss student progress so that all adults know how to best support and assist each child during their present journey through the Australian Curriculum. This partnership is critical if each student is to achieve their personal best in making the most of the learning opportunities afforded at school. These formal parent/teacher meetings are scheduled at the beginning of the year and again in mid year.

If parents have any other concerns about their child’s learning progress throughout the year they can contact their child’s teacher to arrange a meeting.

NAPLAN Results

Each May, all students in Years 3 and 5 across Australia participate in the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests. McDowall State School is pleased to publish our results, please click on the 'Related Links' for our performance over the last two years.
